I've drawn as long as I've been able to hold a pencil. I started with people, I loved drawing ballerina's, princesses and fairies as a kid. Once my mom got us our first pets, I also learned to draw animals. Over time, with my love for fantasy, the two started to merge into animal people. At first I drew mermaids and elves and such, but once I found out about anthropomorphics or 'furries' I was hooked. There's just so much creative oportunity when inventing furries, it keeps my art fresh. People just all look the same in the end, but when you add the animal aspect, there's a whole new range of colors, textures and body shapes.
I still draw people once in a while, but I find them a little dull most of the time.
In school I drew a lot, and my teachers tried to really stimulate it, which was pretty cool. Then in high school I had a great teacher as well; a very talented man who could be pretty critical and strict. He actually told me and my best friend that we were his favorite students.. we loved to spend our lunch drawing in his class room.
After High School I went to become a primary school teacher and ofcourse I learned even more about art there. I have been just so fortunate with amazing teachers. I learned to work with clay, oil pastel and other materials I never even considered using before. However, teaching was just not for me. I decided to try enroll in a college course for graphical design... the acceptance test was a breeze, the test committy was impressed by my work. Sadly, I got engaged and moved away before I could attend.
These days I work part-time and I'm a housewife. But luckilly I'm still an artist, thanks to my husband's support. So if you ever want to purchase some of my work and support my art, just send me an email!
